OpenAI’s ChatGPT continues to experience rapid growth, now averaging more than 2.5 billion daily user interactions globally, according to data reported by Axios. Of those, approximately 330 million requests originate from users in the United States.
While the AI-powered chatbot still trails behind Google’s search engine, which processes roughly 5 trillion searches annually, ChatGPT’s accelerating adoption suggests growing competition in the digital search and productivity space.
The platform’s expansion was underscored by the recent debut of ChatGPT Agent, a feature that allows the AI to perform tasks directly on a user’s computer. This capability marks a significant advancement in functionality, moving ChatGPT beyond conversational use into direct task automation — a move that may further position OpenAI as a formidable player in the tech industry’s evolving landscape.
