The University of Central Florida (UCF) Board of Trustees will review a proposal to raise out-of-state student fees by 10% during its upcoming meeting on Thursday, July 31. If approved, the fee adjustment would take effect in Fall 2025. The proposed change would not impact tuition or fees for in-state students.
According to UCF, the proposed increase reflects the university’s need to maintain academic quality and student support services amid rising operational costs. The last adjustment to out-of-state fees occurred more than a decade ago.
More than 93% of UCF’s undergraduate population are Florida residents, and the university serves more in-state students than any other school in the State University System. UCF credits its ability to maintain low tuition and a high-quality student experience to continued support from the State of Florida and its emphasis on innovation and operational efficiency.
UCF acknowledges the potential impact this change could have on current out-of-state students. Should the proposal be approved, the university has stated it will work closely with affected students to explore possible financial aid solutions.
The UCF Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 31. Meeting details and related documents can be found on the UCF Board of Trustees website.
