With its proximity to theme park attractions, beaches and a bustling food scene, Orlando is ranked by AAA as a top Spring Break destination.

Being popular with out-of-state and international travelers and also being a well-connected airport, Orlando International Airport (MCO) said in a press release that nearly 53,000 flights will operate in and out of the airport during the Spring Break travel period, which is running from mid-March to April 7. The busiest day for MCO is projected to be March 15 with an estimated 212,000 travelers.

“Central Florida enjoys a unique ranking as a favorite Spring Break destination because it is attractive to a wide range of audiences,” Lance Lyttle, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA), which operates MCO said in a press release. “We have popular theme parks, golfing, a growing food scene, sporting competitions, and other attractions, while also being blessed with beautiful weather that escapes other parts of the country at this time of year.”

The airport is currently in its peak stretch of a 46-day travel window, where more than 7.4 million passengers in total are expected to go through MCO, which is an 8 percent increase from the record year in 2025.

In preparation for the Spring Break boom at MCO, the airport is offering tips to make travel easy.

  • Pack as light as possible.
  • Park in any garage or lot, or use Reserved Parking for a guaranteed spot.
  • Give yourself three hours before your flight to arrive at the airport, go through security and arrive at your gate.
  • Use MCO Reserve to book a time slot to go through TSA security.
  • When picking someone up from a flight at MCO, use the free North or South Cell Phone Lots to wait for them instead of circling aroun the airport. The lots offer Wi-Fi and restrooms.
  • Use the MCO App for in-terminal navigation and more.
