Before I get into this, I’ll admit right up front — I’m biased. I’m a huge fan of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. I owned everything they ever put out, going all the way back to the N.W.A. days. Their sound was the soundtrack of my youth. I always loved the clubs, the real ones. Loud, alive, full of energy, bass hitting your chest while everyone on the floor knew every lyric.
When I lived in Europe, house music reigned supreme, but even there, a good DJ would always throw in Dre or Snoop to get the crowd moving. I think I still have some old glow sticks somewhere, my daughter probably thinks they’re just for Halloween.
So walking into Still Lounge by Dre & Snoop at The Pointe Orlando, I already knew this night was going to hit different. Let’s just say it did.
The Vibe: A 1990s Club Reborn
From the moment I walked in, it felt like stepping into a time capsule — not just back to the 90s, but back to when nightlife meant something. The look, the sound, even the crowd energy had that classic club feel. Honestly, I’ve missed that.
Somewhere along the way, clubs faded out. The younger crowd traded strobe lights for screen lights, swapping the dance floor for gaming chairs and social feeds. But to here’s hoping Still Lounge changes that. Maybe, just maybe, this is where they’ll rediscover how to meet people the old-fashioned way, on the dance floor. (That’s how I met my wife, after all).
Also, I was once told that someday I’d stop going to clubs, but that day hasn’t come yet. I actually own Krush Brau Park, and in a way, I’m still going to the club every weekend. This place just gives me another excuse to keep the streak alive.
