To celebrate 25 years of environmental advocacy, St. Johns Riverkeeper is launching a two-month brewery passport challenge aimed at raising awareness and funds in support of Florida’s longest river. The “25 Taps for the St. Johns” campaign begins June 1 and will run through July 31, inviting beer enthusiasts across the state to participate in a cause-driven brewery tour.
The initiative features 25 participating breweries across Florida, including Central Florida favorites like Brewlando Brewing and Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company in Orlando, Deviant Wolfe Brewing in Sanford, and Eden Abbey Brewing Community in Mount Dora. Participants can enjoy a drink at each location and check in using a QR code as part of a digital passport system.
Each brewery check-in earns participants points toward branded prizes such as T-shirts, koozies, and a stainless steel pint glass. In addition to these rewards, each entry also qualifies for a grand prize drawing—an eco-tour or guided fishing charter on the St. Johns River, offering winners a first-hand experience of the ecosystem they’re supporting.
Founded in 1999, St. Johns Riverkeeper is a nonprofit, independent organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the St. Johns River through advocacy, education, and community engagement. The organization is currently focusing its efforts on water policy, reducing bacteria in tributaries, and expanding public education initiatives about the river’s ecological importance.
The campaign will conclude with a celebratory event at Intuition Ale Works in Jacksonville, where participants and supporters will gather to reflect on the campaign’s impact and the ongoing work of St. Johns Riverkeeper.
