Orlando to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Art Exhibit and Community Events

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz are inviting residents to take part in the city’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15, 2025.

This year’s national theme, “Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural traditions that shape Hispanic identity while recognizing the creativity and promise of future generations.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is observed annually across the United States from September 15 to October 15. The monthlong recognition honors the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestry traces back to Spain, Mexico, and Spanish-speaking nations in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibit

The City of Orlando will host the opening reception of its Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibition on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Terrace Gallery in City Hall.

The reception will include an official program led by Mayor Buddy Dyer and Commissioner Tony Ortiz, along with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring city commissioners and participating artists. Guests will also enjoy hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and the opportunity to view artworks by local visual artists inspired by this year’s national theme.

The exhibition will be open to the public from September 15 through November 2, 2025.

Hispanic Heritage Month Community Celebration

In addition to the art showcase, the City of Orlando will host its Hispanic Heritage Month Community Celebration on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The celebration will highlight Hispanic culture through Latin food, music, art displays, and traditional folk-dance performances. Mayor Dyer and Commissioner Ortiz will once again lead the official program, which aims to bring the community together in recognition of Hispanic residents’ impact on the city, state, and nation.

City leaders encourage residents to participate in the upcoming events as Orlando continues its tradition of honoring Hispanic heritage, culture, and contributions to the community.
