American Airlines brings new features to their app and website that will help travelers rebook disrupted flights from their mobile device.
The refurbished app will help flyers with rebooking options, tracking luggage, and accessing hotel, meal and transportation vouchers via a QR code according to Travel Weekly.
According to a study at SkyRefund, American Airlines was the most likely airline to cancel flights at a 2.69% cancellation rate within the first six months of last year.
The app will now display changes to flights with a new color-coded system. Orange for delayed flights, red for canceled flights, green to indicate when rebooking is available and blue to indicate when a traveler’s flight is already in the process of being rebooked. Flyers are now able to book rides directly from the app from both Uber and Lyft according to American Airlines.
App users will now experience easier navigation with rebooking, luggage and voucher options all on the same page.
These upgrades are announced after American Airlines launched free high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T across 2 million flights a year beginning this month.
