Foods and exquisite tastes of dishes at Uptown Vibes Food Extravaganza on Saturday, March 7, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. opened the minds of free expression for the community to enjoy.

Lively music, great food, specialty vendors, and family-friendly games took over Cranes Roost Park, where family and friends can get together for a night worth remembering.

Uptown Vibes brought a unique musical atmosphere for guests to experience while featuring The Groove Slayers. This group brought a dynamic mix of classic hits and contemporary favorites throughout Central Florida and is the top choice for live entertainment in Orlando

Vibrant Music and Good Vibes

Uptown Vibes created a great environment for guests to come together with different backgrounds to try foods from various vendors.

“My family is Caribbean so I’m a huge foodie,” said Zenney Lynch, guest of Uptown Vibes. “We’re from this island called Aruba so I love Caribbean food and trying new things. Since I’m someone who loves different cultures, I’m down to try anything that will taste good.”

Food is a universal commodity essential for living and something everyone can usually agree tastes good. Food brings joy to people around the world through different flavors and a shared passion society has.

“I think you can bring people together with food from different cultures. This event builds a community from all over to try unique foods, listen to cool music, and I just find it amazing,” said Lynch.

The vendors at Uptown Vibes were selling American Food which is a blend of European, Native American, and African traditions including iconic staples such as burgers, pizzas, fried chicken, and hot dogs.

“This event allows people to relate to each other by finding a similarity of liking the same food. Whether you’re Hispanic, Caribbean, black or white, food is something that universally unites the community in having a connection,” said Lynch.

Isabella Herrera, guest at Uptown Vibes said, putting yourself out there in the real world is important in giving you the confidence and ability to express yourself through different types of foods and cultures.

“I love trying new things and I apply that to life by being able to put myself out there and to be open minded to trying things I normally wouldn’t try,” said Herrera. “I think if you’re curious to try another cultures food, that’s another way of making connections and trying something you wouldn’t have on your own.”

The importance of food-centered events like this is that it is a common ground for people who are wanting to put themselves out there while allowing others to follow in line with trying different types of cultures.

“I just had the pulled pork quesadillas with seasoning, and it was so delicious to try at this event,” said Herrera. “The more you offer; the more different kinds of people are going to want to come out to try different foods and that is what brings together society.”

This event helped citizens understand the importance of food and how to make a good decision when deciding on which foods are best for your health and wellbeing.

“People are coming down, watching vendors, taking free stuff, bringing their kids, and just having a great time celebrating with lively music and good energy in a group setting,” said Herrera. “This event allows people to be themselves while also providing entertainment that families can enjoy and just eating good food.”

The Uptown Vibes Food Extravaganza event opened the minds and tastebuds of different cultures for people to try by buying foods they’ve never had before.
