Event Details

Join us for the 10th Annual Walk for Parkinson on April 6th at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs as we raise awareness and funds to support local Parkinson education, exercise and research to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease!  Celebrating our dear friend, former Board Member and past President of Rollins College – Dr. Rita Bornstein who tirelessly fought this disease and promoted research to one day find a cure. A cure not to be found in her lifetime but for those who follow behind her.

When you Walk with us at Cranes Roost, you’ll be moving with hundreds of supporters who share a common goal to help beat Parkinson’s!

Why Walk?

  • 3 out of 5 people will experience a neurological issue in their lifetime.
  • Someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease every 6 minutes in the United States.
  • Parkinson’s Disease affects more individuals than Lou Gehrig’s disease, muscular dystrophy, and multiple sclerosis combined.  It will surpass Alzheimer’s Disease in the coming years.
  • 20,000 people in Central Florida are affected by this disease.
  • 90,000 more people will be diagnosed this year in the United States.

Donations raised enable PACF to provide funding to local education and support programs for those living with Parkinson’s, their care partners and families in Central Florida as well as fund research into the causes, prevention, treatments and ultimately the cure.

We are all in this together, to provide a community of support, to give people the resources and help they need to live well with Parkinson’s.
