As anticipation looms for the Oscars this weekend, Full Sail University is shedding light on 112 alumni who worked on 20 Oscar-nominated projects at the 98th Annual Academy Awards.
Alumni from a variety of degree programs, including film, computer animation, recording arts and digital cinematography, are credited on nominated projects like KPop Demon Hunters, Bugonia, Sinners, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another and Song Sung Blue.
The projects are nominated across 21 categories such as Best Picture, Cinematography, Film Editing, Sound, Visual Effects, Writing and Documentary Feature Film.
“We’re proud to celebrate our extraordinary alumni whose talent and dedication are on display within this year’s Oscar-nominated releases,” Jay Noble, Full Sail University’s Vice President of Alumni, said in a press release. “The artistry, innovation, and relentless pursuit of excellence that each of you demonstrates exemplifies the very spirit of our university. Watching your work on display on the world’s stage at the Academy Awards serves to inspire our entire university community. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!”
The university has highlighted Gary A. Rizzo, 1993 recording arts alum, and Juan Peralta, 1996 recording arts alum for their individual nominations in the Best Sound category. Both are nominated for their work as Re-recording Mixers on the sports drama, F1.
The Oscars will be held on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, airing on ABC and streaming on Hulu.
