Goodwill Industries of Central Florida has partnered with the IRS and Heart of Florida United Way to launch its Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA) service amid the start of tax season.
Goodwill said in a statement the service is aimed at relieving stress related to tax filing costs and navigating the filing process. At Goodwill’s newly renovated campus, located at 7523 S. Orange Blossom Trail, people with disabilities, seniors, those with language barriers or households with an income of $73,000 or less can receive assistance.
“VITA volunteers understand the importance of making sure clients receive their
maximum refund – laying the foundation for financial security in 2026,” Ed Durkee,
GICF President and CEO said in a press release. “By hosting this community resource, we’re alleviating the stress and cost that often comes with filing your taxes – all in the spirit of ‘Building Lives That Work.’”
IRS-certified volunteers will provide free tax preparation every Friday from February 6 through April 10 at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 407-929-3435.
