Diamond Resorts Invitational Kicks Off Second Year

Sports all stars, television personalities and country music singers will join professional golfers for this year’s Diamond Resorts Invitational, which will take place from Jan. 13-15 at Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort.

Diamond Resorts Invitational Kicks Off Second Year

The Diamond Resorts Invitational, benefitting Florida Hospital for Children, kicked off its second year today. This morning, 11 athletes and other celebrities who are participating in the tournament teamed up with Florida Hospital for Children patients for games of putt-putt and room visits. Later today, sponsors and Pro-Am groups will celebrate the beginning of the festivities with dinner, drinks and live entertainment at Mystic Dunes Resort.

On Jan. 12, the Brian Gay Pro-Am event will be held at Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. Afterward, participants will enjoy the All Fore the Children Extravaganza & Concert sponsored by Planet Hollywood at Mystic Dunes Resort, where the top 10 finalists from the Brian Gay Pro-Am will be announced. Those finalists will move on to the Diamond Resorts Invitational.
Then, in one of the most unique fields of golf, National Football League, Major League Baseball and National Hockey League athletes as well as entertainers, television personalities and country music stars join PGA TOUR champions and LPGA athletes at Tranquilo Golf Club from Jan. 13-15 to play for a $1.25 million purse at the Diamond Resorts Invitational. The newly minted tournament is the first PGA TOUR Champions event of the year.

Pelebrities include Johnny Damon, Scott Dunlap, Joe Durant, Larry Fitzgerald, Colt Ford, Brooke Henderson, Brittany Lang, Larry the Cable Guy, Brittany Lincicome, Ryan Longwell, Jake Owen, Alfonso Ribeiro, Cole Swindell, Justin Verlander, Jack Wagner, Michael Waltrip and more.

Tickets to the Diamond Resorts Invitational are available to the public on the event website or at Central Florida Walgreens locations. Even if you can’t be there in person, you’ll still be able to keep up with the scores. All three rounds will be televised live on Golf Channel from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.
