Get a Mammogram, Give a Mammogram

For the entire month of October, Shepherd’s Hope will continue its popular program, Get a Mammogram, Give a Mammogram. This Pink October initiative is in direct partnership with Sand Lake Imaging and provides free mammograms to uninsured women who would otherwise forgo these lifesaving screenings as a result of cost or lack of health insurance.

Women are encouraged to switch to Sand Lake Imaging for their own screening mammogram, and for each new patient, the practice will donate a free screening mammogram to an uninsured Shepherd’s Hope patient in need. The program is taking place at both of Sand Lake Imaging’s offices – one on Turkey Lake Road in Orlando and the other on Maitland Avenue in Maitland.

The Get a Mammogram, Give a Mammogram program is in its third year. Since 2013, 320 screening mammograms have resulted from the give portion of the program. With breast cancer ranking second as the most common cancer among American women, this is truly a lifesaving gift.
